My daughter, Jenna, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when she was only 2.5 years old in August 2011. She’s currently in remission and will continue to undergo treatment until February 2014. Jenna is now a vivacious four year old that loves music, dance, and playing with friends. Watching her undergo treatment has inspired me to reach out to the pediatric cancer community to raise awareness and provide support when and where I can. Our family, and other families facing similar battles, are put under tremendous stress and unexpected circumstances. I love that the Every Day a Hero event provides a fun atmosphere where we can not only forget about our worries for an evening, but also to celebrate all that we’ve been through.
