Meet Nathan! This handsome boy was diagnosed at birth with Severe Combine Immune Deficiency, essentially the absence of an immune system. At two months he had ablative chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. He experienced serious side effects, and affecting his heart, liver and kidneys. He spent over 11 months in the hospital, but you’d never know by looking at him. “He is full of energy, and is very outgoing. He has shown so much bravery and amazed us with his excitement and joy for life. Our journey has shown us what it means to have hope and joy in difficult situations. Our family started the Every Day A Hero event to help others be encouraged, get connected, and get much needed resources for their difficult journeys. We can’t wait to see every one this year!”
